With his partner Caprice, Saul Tenser, celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Humans are incredibly adaptive creatures and can quickly adjust to almost any environment, synthetic or otherwise. In a synthetic environment, one marked by technological advances and implemented systems of digital automation, humans’ innate adaptiveness works in their favor as they learn to acclimate to the changes swiftly. With new systems integrated into the environment all the time, like artificial intelligence (AI) and automated processes for handling certain tasks, there is a great potential for both overwhelming fear and excitement of what more is yet to come. The successful navigation of this synthetic world requires courage and creativity from those wishing to make headway amidst the swift waves of change.
