Movie plot
Tannie Maria considers food "medicine for the body and the heart". She envies romance as much as she enjoys cooking and eating. But it was death that turned Tannie Maria's life upside down, when one of her columnists was brutally murdered. Maria Purvis (Maria Doyle Kennedy) lives in a small town in the Karoo region of South Africa, and for the past seven years she's been writing a recipe column for the local newspaper. But one morning, as she leaves for work with a flywheel, her editor, Hattie Wilson (Jennifer Steyn), tells her her column will be scrapped in favor of turning pro. item tips. “Hattie Maria,” as she's known to readers, offers the column, but has friendly competition with the newspaper's young and daring reporter, September Jessie (Kylie Fisher).
