Inventing The Christmas Prince is sweet enough to have a holiday-appropriate feel with a reformed Scrooge making a little girl's dream come true. Shelby (Tamera Mowry-Housley) is a single mother and rocket scientist. She seems smart and competent but the writers have made a clever profession they know nothing about. She works at a private company specializing in launching rockets into space, and because she has a terrible boss, she is thinking of moving to another private company that also sends rockets into space. in the same indescribable little town in Central America. That doesn't exist. Her boss, Evan (Ronnie Rowe), has no social skills even though some idiots have promoted him to a management position. He must try to get to know his employees and behave well because the company cannot allow any more people to leave (like Shelby). So Evan does nothing, he continues to be a social asshole. It's not even like he's trying but finds socializing so hard, he's just a terrible person who won't even try. We have a good character in a meaningless world and a bad character, and we haven't even gotten into the story yet. Shelby's daughter thinks Evan is the Prince of Christmas, a story Shelby concocted to tell her daughter a story of hope, magic, and Christmas. Cute enough. Except that Shelby didn't want to ruin the magic of Christmas so she convinced Evan to pose as the Prince of Christmas in exchange for her not quitting her job.
