Movie plot
Despite facing rejection and limited opportunities as a young, gay Black man, the protagonist decides to take control of his future by joining the Marines. Fueled by a fierce determination to succeed in a system that would otherwise dismiss him, he faces the challenges of training and military life head-on. The rigors of basic training and the culture shock of military life test his resolve, but he refuses to let go of his dreams. As he rises through the ranks, he confronts discrimination and prejudice from both fellow Marines and commanding officers, but he remains undeterred. With his sights set on a future beyond the military, he channels his determination and drive to overcome every obstacle in his path. Through perseverance and grit, he demonstrates that he is not defined by the circumstances of his birth, but by his own strength and resilience A young, gay Black man, rejected by his mother and with few options for his future, decides to join the Marines, doing whatever it takes to succeed in a system that would cast him aside.
