The survivors of a plane crash are forced to work together in order to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island. Some of the island';;s mysteries and dangers are revealed during the second season. They also learn that the hatch and other structures on the island were built in the 1970s by a scientific research group called the Dharma Initiative. Michael is reunited with his kidnapped son Walt, but at great cost after the survivors find a wounded man who calls himself Henry Gale.
